A bumper crop

This was one of my dads sure ways of predicting a harsh winter. That certainly was the case last autumn when i noticed the tree were full of berries especially the Rowan trees.

Again this year there seems to be a lot of berries.is this natures way of helping the animals stock up for a longer, colder winter or is it just that the conditions that have helped produce numerous berries have been followed by a cold winter simply because the weather can and often does follow a pattern.

I guess we shall just have to wait and see,but i for one will be getting ready just in case.

  1. Our rowan tree was loaded but the birds have eaten every single one and all the elderberies. I'm already hanging out loads of food for them.
