Birthday girl (well a bit late)

A year ago our sweet little Evie - Rose was born (She was 2 minutes old in the above picture)She now can walk and say cat,doggy,What is it?,daddy and can sign pig,rabbit and is learning many more to enable her to talk to her big brother.

Busy,Busy,Busy

We have had birthdays and birth days here.Bethany turned 18 and 2 days later became an aunt again for the third time. My son and daughter in law had their beautiful baby Jessica Elizabeth on Friday the 13th,weighing in at 6lb 4 oz.

The gardens going a bit wild although i managed to do something about the front at weekend,the back is looking jungle like.

My eldest daughters baby's have all found new homes.Cheesecake was the last to go.

And my youngest has developed a design streak.

And me,well i have all this to paint

and this

and all the way up there

and along there

And finally up there as well

The woodwork has finally been finished thank goodness and the carpet ordered so all we need to do now is go from green to coffee.

Evie - rose arrived in the world at 6.12pm yesterday.

The planned home birth went really well.And mum and baby are well.

Well its finished

The cats are happy,and we even managed to build the crib for the new baby

And our little visitor is very happy,we have to go upstairs every now and again at various points through out the day so he can make sure its still there.The house is about as tidy as it can be so we are ready.All we need now is a new baby.

Snow has been forecast and the clouds seem to be gathering so the spare bed is made up and the new boiler is working hard.All we can do now is wait.

Getting a move on

We have been doing a bit of decorating,The little boy we foster had bedroom with pink flowery wallpaper so we decided to decorate the room with something a little more child friendly. I was just thinking about getting on with it when this arrived.No its not domestic waste as the bag says.Its actually a home birthing pack.As in new baby,being born here in our house,very soon.My eldest daughters 2nd child is due any day now and she asked us if we could make it a family event and could she have a home birth here!!

Seen as most of the house looks like this. ( how is it that when you decorate one room the rest of the house gets turned upside down ?)

So i though wed better get a move on and some progress was made.Hopefully to be finished by tomorrow and the whole house cleaned and tidied.Just in case.Maybe that's wishful thinking but the thought was there.

That time of year again.

May is a month full of birthdays in this house,Family and friends birthdays all seem to come at once.Here's a snap shot of a couple...

Today i have finally got a digital camera,some very very good friends of mine clubbed together and i got it tonight as a belated birthday pressie.No more taking pictures with my phone,bluetoothing them to No 3s phone and nagging for a week for her to put them on the computer.You may finally see some clear pictures.

Some friends are worth the world.

Its official

Well that's it then,this morning my youngest has officially turned into a teenager.Although in attitude (sometimes) shes been there for a while.I now have 3 of them 3 teens and a 21 year old.What will the years ahead hold? Tears and laughter no dought.

Excitement

Well yesterday the children were very excited,no not by the fact that i turned ...you know... what it says up there.But by the fact Google earth street view was launched.Its fantastic you can zoom in on your street and it looks just like your stood there.We saw the cameras about in the summer and low and behold there i am at the door letting in Jess my friends dog in two shots and in another stood talking on the door step to No 3.No 3 is mortified as she is stood there in her pink fluffy dressing gown!We are lucky because our house is near to 4 different roads so we can get about 12 different views of our house.The ones taken right outside its mid summer,it looks hot and all the flowers are in full bloom.The ones taken up the main road look like its Autumn/winter.We have spotted a few people we know out and about,and my car is at home and outside my Friends.Very clever.People were worried it would compromise their home security as burglars could see which houses are alarmed and what locks they have,but surely they could do that by just walking past!.I would recommend anyone to have a look.You need to download Google earth first (make sure its the free one ).I warn you though its addictive.

What a difference a year makes

Well the sun is out the sky is blue there's not a cloud...and all that,but the ground is frozen solid and there is a thin layer of ice over the pond.This time last year in the week leading up to the 11th we had laid 70sq meters of turf,planted a whole army of bulbs and bedding plants (most of which were then eaten by the rabbit through out the summer)and the garden was a wash with the yellow glow of Daffy's.
Right now my poor feet are still in woolly socks and the fish are staying very near the bottom of the pond,I'm sure one day soon i will be able to sit in the garden with a cool glass of something nice,but right now that feels a long way off.

Feeling old
